What are geosexual archetypes?
A geosexual archetype is a pattern that describes how someone seeks sex, focusing particularly on where someone has sex.
In the summer of 2016, we conducted 31 interviews with guys who have sex with guys in Toronto. With their help, we reconstructed their sexual network over the past 3 months, including details about where, when, and with whom they had sex. Based on the data, we came up with 7 geosexual archetypes that represent the places guys have sex. Lets see which one represents you!
Hosters
AKA: Sex at your home only
As implied in the name, you prefer to host sex in the comfort of your own home. Privacy during sex is important to you, but you are willing to invite your partners into your little world. After all, what’s more intimate than letting someone see your private areas?
Privates
AKA: Sex at your home or sex at partner’s home
For you, privacy during sex is paramount. It doesn’t matter whether play happens at your house or your partner’s – either way, you work best when you’re inside. Besides, isn’t a little change of scenery nice now and again?
Housecallers
AKA: Sex at your partner’s home only
YOU want the house tour! Whether out of concern for privacy from roommates, or a desire to play in new spaces, you prefer to have sex at your partners’ place. “You host?” is your signature phrase, and your love language is acts of service (the act is you getting in a car and driving to your partner’s place, even if its far!).
